The annual Ooltewah-Collegedale Spirit of Christmas Parade is just around the corner! Be sure to join us on Little Debbie Parkway & Apison Pike on Sunday, December 2 at 3 pm!

The parade begins on Little Debbie Parkway at the intersection of Jac Cate Road and heads south to Apison Pike. The route continues east on Apison Pike and then turns north onto Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, ending at Ooltewah Middle School.

To watch the parade, be sure to arrive early, so you can get a great spot along the road. If you'd like to be in the parade or volunteer in the parade, please let us know. We'd love to have you!

Participate in the Parade

All businesses, clubs, groups, and organizations are welcome to enter* the Spirit of Christmas Parade. Simply submit your application and $25 entry fee** to the Samaritan Center or to Steve Ray's Midnite Oil by November 29.

How to Enter: Fill out the entry form online or print your entry application and bring it into the Samaritan Center or Midnite Oil in Ooltewah.

*The Samaritan Center reserves the right to refuse any entrant that does not meet our standards for family entertainment.
**All fees and sponsorship gifts support the mission of the Samaritan Center.

Volunteer at the Parade

We need a number of people to help with many different aspects of the parade. If you are interested in helping direct participants, clean up, decorate the Samaritan Center truck, or any of the many activities we need help with, please let us know!***

Participant Info

All parade participants must have a parade contact and phone number to whom the parade committee can communicate changes or details both before and on the day of the parade.

The entry fee is $25 for each group. All donations collected will support the mission of the Samaritan Center in Ooltewah. For more information about the Samaritan Center visit www.thesamaritancenter.net.

Children must be supervised at ALL TIMES during line-up and throughout the parade.

Please drive SLOWLY through the parade line-up area. If you are in a hurry, please do not join the parade.

Line-up begins at 12:30 PM on Jac Cate Road. The entrance to the line-up area is on Jac Cate Road off of Ooltewah-Ringgold Road or on Lodge Road. Both entrances will be marked and manned by parade officials. Please do NOT arrive before 12:30 PM, or you may be asked to leave. The road will be open to thru traffic until 12:30 PM.

We will have a come-as-you-can line-up. That means we will line up in the order of arrival. However, the Samaritan Center reserves the right to change the order if necessary for the smoothness of the parade.

In order for the line-up to progress in an orderly fashion, please meet your group at a designated place and travel together to the parade line-up area. Be patient as we are lining up for the parade—we will not leave without you, and we are all going to the same place.

If you want to be behind a specific group, we recommend that you meet elsewhere and travel to the parade together.

Horses Only: All horses must be bagged/diapered. All horse riders must be 18 or older. Every horse group must provide a equine expert to accompany the group. All horses will stage in the vacant lots at Jac Cate Road and Ooltewah-Ringgold Road. When the parade starts, the horses will fall in together.

For safety reasons, all give-away items, including candy, must be handed to, not thrown toward, children. Those handing out items must be 12 years or older.

As there is one designated Santa, parade participants are asked not to dress in full Santa costumes.

Please join us at the Samaritan Center for a pre-parade meeting on Thursday, November 29 at 6:00 PM to go over the parade route and rules. The meeting will be held in the volunteer sort room to the rear left of the building.
